Is God’s Love Scientific? (Part 1)

“I am contending for you that your hearts will be wrapped in the comfort of heaven and woven together into love’s fabric. This will give you access to all the riches of God as you experience the revelation of God’s great mystery—Christ. For our spiritual wealth is in him, like hidden treasure waiting to be discovered—heaven’s wisdom and endless riches of revelation knowledge” (Colossians 2:2–3 TPT).

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”  — Nikola Tesla

My husband and I owned a restaurant for about three years. As hostess, I would, from time have the  opportunity to engage with the customers. One night I had an encounter with a couple of jovial fellows who turned out to be atheists.  I had greeted these same three guys several other nights that week.  Finally, I got around to asking what they were up to in town.

One grimly replied that their mutual buddy from grade school was dying of cancer at the Mayo Clinic. They were there to pay their last regards. My immediate response was “I’m so sorry to hear that. What is your friend’s name?”

He told me the name and I said, “Well, I speak healing now to so-and-so, in Jesus’s name.”

Well, this guy —who before had acted like I was his best friend in town—lit into me with “Don’t say that!” His face was stern and reddening by the second. “One, it’s not going to happen. And two, I’m an atheist! I believe in science! I liked you until you started talking like that!”

Whew! I must admit I was shocked. Typically, people visiting the restaurant would thank me for something like that, even if they didn’t subscribe. I know when someone is placating me. And that’s fine. I never try to argue a point. But every now and then, someone will be most appreciative and want to discuss further.

In this case, I collected myself and said, “I am so sorry I have offended you. I certainly did not intend to do that.” I was earnest in my statement.

Then came one of the most Holy Spirit-directed responses I can ever remember giving someone whose views were so sharply opposed to mine. It was so amazing that I knew it came straight from God’s heart—through my mind:

“The reason I said that is because my experience tells me God heals. And if there is anything I can say that would help heal your friend, I want to say it. As far as science is concerned, God made science. He certainly uses science.”

I noticed the man was softening, his face relaxing, though his friend had that anxious look that said, “I can’t believe you are getting yourself into this.”

I paused for a second more, then continued: “But God is much bigger than this science He made. The science part of God is this big—like a quarter of a pie.” I held up my fingers to show him. “The rest of the pie is the relational, love part of Who God is. That’s the part you’re missing.”

How We Live and Move and Have Our Being

The Apostle Paul said to the men of Athens at Mars Hill, “For in Him we live and move and have our being as even some of your [own] poets have said. For we are also His offspring (Acts 17:28 AMP).

I didn’t realize it at the time of my encounter with the atheists. But now I know that the “random” conversation I had with them at our restaurant five years ago lead me to greater revelations about science and the frequency of God’s relational love.

Now, after many months of “scientific” research, I see the connections.

To explain, let me break down (as best my unscientific mind can muster!) the properties of Quantum Physics, theories “proved” by Albert Einstein and others roughly a century ago. First, as I see it, there is a definite overlap between mass, energy and light. (1) Mass is comprised of subatomic building blocks such as protons, neutrons, and electrons. (2) Energy is force, represented by waves, frequencies, or vibrations which all “carry” information. (3) Light is made of “waves” of energy, called photons, which “congeal” to form mass.

My research shows that all mass is “congealed” light. And all mass “holds” energy or frequency.  This means that technically, our bodies are made of light particles, emitting energy waves (meaning we have electromagnetic fields surrounding us).  Further, we are held together atomically by a cosmic force of some sort that works like glue. The universe is apparently “held together” by this same force.

At the same time, there is a “field” in the universe (a concept proposed by scientists in 1964) which is responsible for the Big Bang Theory or the creation of the universe (that is, all the stars, planets, and life on earth).  This field is thought to have “given mass” to elementary particles of light. In the 1990s some scientists dubbed the “waves” produced in this field to be “God Particles.” These “waves” were finally “discovered” (that is, verified) in 2012, confirming the existence of the mass-giving field.

Could the cosmic mass-making life-force that created the “God Particles” be “the breath” God breathed into the universe when He spoke the words, “Let there be light”? Could this be the same life-giving breath He breathed into man at the point of our creation? Could His love indeed be the force that made us and that now holds us and the universe together?

“In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light” (Genesis 1:1–2 AMP).

“Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7 AMP).

“The spirit God breathed into man is like a living lamp, a shining light searching into the innermost chamber of our being” (Proverbs 20:27 TPT).

“This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you. God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him” (1 John 1:5 TPT).

“We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us. God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them (1 John 4:16 TPT).

Einstein “Spooked” by Quantum Entanglement

In 1935, soon after the properties of Quantum Physics were initially discovered, a group of scientists including Albert Einstein developed a theory called Quantum Entanglement. The properties of this theory were so strange that Einstein himself called it “spooky”!

Here were the findings of Quantum Entanglement: Two quantum particles can be set up so their quantum “states” will always be correlated with one another—even at long distances. No matter how far apart, the particles “know” about each other’s properties. Not only that. The “effect” can occur before its “cause." And the casual “signaling” used to bring about change can occur faster than the speed of light.

To apply this principle to a biblical idea, perhaps we could ask this question: Could the fact that Jesus was “slain before the foundation of the world” be an example of Quantum Entanglement? That is, in the heavenly realm, could the “effect” of Jesus’s crucifixion have come before the “cause”?

“And all the inhabitants of the earth will fall down in adoration and pay him (the beast) homage, everyone whose name has not been recorded in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain [in sacrifice] from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 AMP).

Also, does the theory of entanglement correlate to how Jesus was able to interact with the Father in these passages and others? And to how we can engage with Jesus (and the Father) in our traumatic memories (and certainly in our present circumstances)?

“So Jesus said, ‘I speak to you timeless truth. The Son is not able to do anything from himself or through my own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as his Father. Because the Father loves his Son so much, he always reveals to me everything that he is about to do. And you will all be amazed when he shows me even greater works than what you’ve seen so far!  For just like the Father has power to raise the dead, the Son will raise the dead and give life to whomever he wants’” (John 5:19–21TPT).

“Don’t you believe that the Father is living in me and that I am living in the Father? Even my words are not my own but come from my Father, for he lives in me and performs his miracles of power through me” (John 14:10 TPT).

That Which is Hidden Shall Be Revealed

Einstein and his compadres didn’t have the equipment needed to complete the Quantum Entanglement verification process.  Apparently Einstein then tried to “cover up” what the scientists had found to prevent the discrediting of his own Theory of Relativity. (That theory had become established in the annals of science history right after the turn of the century).

Einstein had good reason to be concerned: The new theory of “entanglement” contradicted and disproved his previous theory—suggesting that “matter” in motion can exceed the speed of light. (Einstein’s original findings were based on the idea that no object could ever travel faster than the speed of light).

Decades passed. Then in 1969, with the needed scientific equipment in hand, John Clauser from the California Institute of Technology began the experimentation needed to validate the Quantum Entanglement Theory. By 1972, John and his Cal Tech team had effectively “proved” that Quantum Entanglement was indeed true and even fundamental to the course of nature. In 2022, Clauser won the Nobel Prize for Quantum Entanglement, “disproving” Einstein’s theory.

“Nothing is [so closely] covered up that it will not be revealed—or hidden that it will not be known.” (Luke 12:2 AMP).

The Intention of the Heart Affects Environment

The Bible reminds us to “guard our hearts”—because “from the heart” our life “flows.” This is a powerful truth, especially considering what science is saying about the power of the electromagnetic field around the human heart.

Here is a description of what The HeartMath Institute says is happening:

“The heart is the most powerful source of electromagnetic energy in the human body, producing the largest rhythmic electromagnetic field of any of the body’s organs. The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. This field, measured in the form of an ECG, can be detected anywhere on the surface of the body. Furthermore, the magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 100 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain and can be detected up to 3 feet away from the body, in all directions, using SQUID-based magnetometers. Prompted by our findings that the timing between pulses of the heart’s magnetic field is modulated by different emotional states, we have performed several studies that show the magnetic signals generated by the heart have the capacity to affect individuals around us.”

Here's the gist of it: What is in our heart will “go out.”  Good, bad, or ugly, what is in our heart will touch and possibly “affect” those around us.

Now, considering what science has confirmed to be true, hear again these words of wisdom from the book of Proverbs—and gain new insight:

Fill your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your spirit. Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true life and radiant health into the very core of your being. So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being for from there flows the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:21-23 TPT).

God’s words to us are intentional. They are life. When His words, which are light and spirit, “resonate” or “vibrate” within us —or, to say it another way, when we “tune” our spirits to the frequency of His Spirit, which is the frequency of His love, while at the same time meditating on His words, radical things begin to happen!  His words become our words! His intentions become our intentions! Our internal world changes for good! Even the world around us begins to change!

“Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.”   — Hippocrates

“Future medicine will be the medicine of frequencies.” — Albert Einstein

The Unlimited Possibilities of Life in God

I’ve never gotten hung up on any apparent scientific “evidence” suggesting that God is not real —or that He is not the source of all things. To the contrary, simple faith has always moved me along a path where I have encountered many life-in-God experiences. These experiences have molded my belief system, what I now call my “Christ consciousness.” I have become convinced that He is real. That He is love. That He is good. That He is relational. That He is the glue that holds everything together. I can and do trust Him.

Other people I know or have met in life struggle with the notion of a God who can’t be seen or heard. But there is hope—when we are intentional about applying the frequency of God’s love to every person we touch. I still believe the atheists who came to our restaurant five years ago will “see” and “hear.” On the same night I spoke to them about the love of God and His power to heal, they each bought my first book, Finding the Secret Place: Eight Keys to Experiencing God’s Presence! That which is hidden shall be revealed!

There are scientific reasons “why” and “how” we human beings can experience the endless, unlimited possibilities of life lived “in God” (that is, life lived “through” His love).  My recent discovery of how all these things can work to bring about healing, wholeness, joy, love, and goodness in this life, both for myself and the many others I love, is very exciting.

There are many other “quantum” topics to discuss and experience. I will continue to seek His heart and His intentions!  And I’ll be in touch with you on it!

Other related scriptures:

This is why the Scriptures say: “Things never discovered or heard of before, things beyond our ability to imagine—these are the many things God has in store for all his lovers” (1 Corinthians 2:9 TPT).

Jesus said, “So my Father, restore me back to the glory that we shared together when we were face-to-face before the universe was created” (John 17:5 TPT).

Jesus said, “Father, I ask that you allow everyone that you have given to me to be with me where I am! Then they will see my full glory—the very splendor you have placed upon me because you have loved me even before the beginning of time” (John 17:24 TPT).
